A short term circumstance wherein the person in question is temporarily unable to perform his or her usual duties to the usual extent, but he or she is predicted to recover totally and can work in some capacity until then.

temporary partial disability (TPD)
In a workers’ compensation case, disability that prevents an injured worker, whose condition is not yet permanent and stationary, from performing all or part of his or her work duties but does not completely prevent the worker from working and earning some money. Partial TPD payments are based on a calculation of a percentage of the portion of earnings lost.

US: An employee may be eligible for temporary partial disability when he or she is able to do some work but is still recuperating from the effects of the injury, and is, thus, temporarily limited in the amount or type of work which can be performed compared to the pre-injury work.
Temporary Partial for Disablement
Temporary partial disablement means that the insured is incapable of attending to a substantial part of his normal duties. It is not sufficient to be “still feeling weak.”
Temporary removal clause
Commercial insurance clause covering items, other than stock, while temporarily removed for cleaning, renovating, repair or similar purposes to any situation in the UK or Republic of Ireland subject, normally, to a 10 per cent limit of the sum insured. Household policies cover contents in a bank, safe deposit or occupied house or in any other building where the insured or a family member is living or employed or carrying for up to 90 consecutive days subject to restrictions.
Temporary Removal of Stocks Clause under Add On Peril under Standard Fire and Special Perils Policy
The stock insured not exceeding 10% of the total sum insured of insured stock is covered while temporarily removed to any other premises for purposes of fabrication or processing or finishing or other similar purposes.
Temporary repairs
Where a ship is temporarily repaired with a view to economy, or because there is no alternative, insurers pay for both the temporary and subsequent repairs not exceeding the insured value. Temporary repairs for the shipowner’s convenience are not allowed except for liners running to advertised sailing schedules.

Temporary sheds (attached to buildings) erected during the monsoon solely for the purpose of monsoon protection are permitted without loading provided such sheds are not used for storage purposes.

US: This benefit is payable when the injured worker is unable to work during a period when he/she is under active medical care and has not yet reached what is called “maximum medical improvement” (MMI). By virtue of simple common sense, once “maximum medical improvement” has been reached the condition can no longer be categorized as temporary.
Temporary Total Disablement Benefits
Benefits payable under a Personal Accident Policy for temporary total disablement. Usually, these benefits are paid at a certain percentage of sum insured not exceeding a rupee limit on weekly basis for the period of temporary total disablement subject to maximum period as mentioned in the policy also subject to maximum the limit of capital sum insured.
