PUWER Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998

Provisions to enhance the safe provision and use of work equipment. The Regulations place general duties on employers and list minimum requirements for work equipment to deal with selected hazards in any industry. ‘Work equipment’ includes everything from a hand tool, through machines of all kinds, to a complete plant such as a refinery. Pyramiding

(i) A term sometimes applied to an alleged practice of some consumer credit organization under which lenders add new credit insurance coverage for consolidation loans without cancelling the old, thus producing a situation of over insurance for the amount of the loan outstanding. (ii) The term also applies to Liability insurance where the limits of liability in several policies may apply, and, in effect, “pyramid” into higher amounts of insurance being available than was originally intended.

event Thunderstorms generated by intense wildfires that inject aerosols into the atmosphere on par with volcanic eruptions. The impact the particles may have on weather, atmosphere and the ozone level is unclear. PyroCb clouds require both very large and intensely hot fires and thunderstorm-enabling conditions, including moisture, several kilometers up in the atmosphere.
