Employee (WC Amendment Act 2009)

An employee is deemed to be a workman within the meaning of the Act if the following pre-requisites are present: (a) a contract of employment (expressed or implied, oral or written) between the employee and the employer: (b) relation of master and servant between the two, and (c) employment is for the purpose of the employer’s trade business.

Help with family stress, relationships, and financial management may also be included. The purpose is to keep the employee well adjusted and productive. An EAP can be effective in reducing workers compensation and group health insurance costs.
