Martial law

The suspension of ordinary law due to war and rebellion. It is not a law in the proper sense but the exercise of will by a military commander who takes the responsibility for suspending ordinary law to ensure safety of the state. It is illegal in time of peace but, by inference, lawful in times of war or civil commotion. Insurance policies may exclude losses during a period of martial law.

Mass immunization center

Location where providers administer pneumococcal pneumonia and influenza virus vaccination and submit these services as electronic media claims or paper claims or use the roster billing method. This generally takes place in a mass immunization setting such as a public health center, pharmacy, or mall but may include a physician’s office setting.

Mass merchandising

A practice wherein a large group of individuals, such as a group of employees, all insure with the same company, and remit premiums in a lump sum.
