Cover is granted against All Risks at rates which are prescribed for named countries/destinations only and subject to the condition that 5% of the invoice value is declared to the airlines and requisite valuation charges are paid to them or the parcel is insured with the postal authorities for a minimum of Rs. 500/- per package as applicable. The intention is to ensure that the parcel is carried as valuable cargo and not as an ordinary parcel. Transit risks are covered on ‘door-to-door’ basis, but despatches by airfreight are usually not covered beyond the airport town of destination.
