Department of Industrial Accidents (DIA)

In workers’ compensation, a state body that administers the workers’ compensation system and provides prompt and fair compensation to victims of occupational injuries and illness and sees that medical treatment to injured workers is provided in a timely manner while balancing the needs of employers to contain workers’ compensation insurance costs. DIA also provides dispute resolution of workers’ compensation cases through due process and adjudication. In some states, this is called Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) .
