Health professional who has completed an approved course of study at an approved medical school, has satisfactorily passed the National Board of Examination, has done hospital internship or residency, and has obtained a state license to practice. Some physicians may elect to further train in a specialty such as allergy, cardiology, dermatology, or orthopedic surgery.
