Geographical Zones in India for Motor Insurance
India has been divided into the following zones for the purpose of rating depending on the location of the office of registration or maximum use of the vehicle. Private Cars/Motorized Two wheelers/commercial Vehicles rates as Taxes (not exceeding 6 passengers) Zone A :Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and PuneZone B :Rest of IndiaCommercial Vehicles other than vehicles covered above: Zone A : Chennai, Delhi/New Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai Zone B :All other State Capitals Zone C : Rest of India These broad outlines of zoning are followed by insurers. Some insurers have formed further sub-zones based on their claim experience, e.g., Commercial vehicles and two-wheelers in major cities are classed for higher zones than above or sub-classed with higher-rate than the class they fall under.
geometric mean length of stay (GMLOS)
Adjusted length of stay for all-patient allowances (diagnosis-related groups [DRGs]) for outliers, transfers, and negative outliers that would otherwise skew the data. The GMLOS is used to establish the per diem payment only for transfer cases.

Geriatric assessment
Systematic collection and review of data (test results, signs, symptoms) pertaining to the elderly to identify problems, check functionality, and establish appropriate treatment.
geriatric care manager (GCM)
Individual (usually social worker or nurse) who assists older people and their families in meeting the elderly person’s health care needs (e.g., fill out insurance forms, perform a comprehensive needs assessment, identify available community resources, screen and arrange for in-home services, resolve disputes among family members). GCM services are typically not covered by insurance.
Geriatric day care
Ambulatory health care facility for the elderly that offers professional and community services for maximizing the patients’ function and independence.
Geriatrician
Medical doctor (MD) who is licensed and certified, and who has specialized postgraduate education and experience in the medical care of older adults.
Geriatrics
Branch of medicine that specializes in handling the physiological characteristics of the elderly and the diagnosis and treatment of their medical problems.
