S.C.R.
Specified Commodity Rate. Applied to narrowly specified commodities. Usually granted on relatively large shipments. Theoretically is of limited time duration.
S.R. & C.C.
Strikes, Riots and Civil Commotions: An insurance clause referring to loss or damage directly caused by strikers, locked-out workmen, persons participating in labor disturbances, and riots of various kinds. The ordinary insurance policy does not cover this risk and the coverage against it can be added by endorsement.

SA
HCPCS Level II modifier that may be used with CPT or HCPCS Level II codes indicating a nurse practitioner’s rendering service together with a physician. It is required by some Medicaid programs, so check with your state guidelines.
Sabotage
Wilfully doing illegal damage or other malicious acts to disrupt the insured. Term originated in France from the word, French ‘sabot’ or wooden shoe, which disgruntled workers would use to damage property.

Safe burglary (Criminal)
A kind of burglary, wherein property is taken without the owner’s consent from a locked safe in an unlawful manner. This is usually substantiated by marks of forced entry left on the safe, or the safe disappearing altogether.

Safe Deposit Box Insurance Policy
Type of business Insurance coverage against loss of or liability for loss of contents of a safe deposit box. Also called Safe Depository Insurance.
