Group of physicians and hospitals who contract with a managed care plan to give care to members of the plan at certain rates and to do the administrative plan paperwork.

Health care services obtained or chosen by a managed care plan member from a network or participating provider of the health plan.

Description applied to a malignant growth confined to the site of origin without invasion of neighboring tissues.
In-area
Within the geographical boundaries defined by a health maintenance organization as the area in which it will provide medical services to its members.
In-before-service
Insurance phrase that means a patient is given medical services earlier than the effective date of membership in an insurance plan.
In-house brokerage agency
Division in an exclusive-agency insurance company and staffed by company-employed brokerage sales agents. They solicit distribution agreements with other companies offering products that the exclusive-agent company does not have. The company’s agents can then broker business with those companies through the in-house brokerage agency.
