Consumer sale

A sale when the person buying ‘deals as a consumer’ with a business. Exclusion clauses of the implied terms of fitness for purpose and satisfactory quality are not permitted (Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977). The Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977, s.12: a person deals as a consumer if (a) he neither makes the contract in the course of business nor holds himself out as doing so; and (b) the other party makes the contract in the course of business; and (c) the goods are of a type ordinarily supplied for private use or consumption.

Consumer survey data

Information collected through a survey of those Medicaid beneficiaries who are enrolled in the program and have used the services. The survey may be conducted by the state or managed care entity (if the managed care entity reports the results to the state).

Contact Carriage Motor

A Motor vehicle which carries passenger(s) for hire or reward and is engaged under a contract, whether expressed or implied for the use of such vehicle as a whole for the carriage of passengers mentioned therein, and entered into by a person holding a permit in relaxation of such vehicle or any person authorized by him in this behalf on a fixed or agreed rate or sum on (a) a time basis, or from one point to another, (b) and, in either case without stopping to pick up or set down passengers not included in the contract anywhere during the journey and include (c) a maxi cab and a motor cab.
