Hired auto covers a vehicle the insured does not own, is not registered to the insured, and is rented or leased for less than 30 days. For example, if the insured runs a delivery service and needs rents an additional vehicle for the two weeks before Christmas, the hired auto coverage protects that vehicle. Hired automobile
Term used (“hired autos”) in the Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO), business auto, garage, and motor carrier coverage forms to denote a particular type of auto included as a covered auto under the policy. With certain exceptions, the term refers to autos the named insured leases, hires, rents, or borrows. As respects both the business auto and the garage policy, the term does not include any auto the named insured leases, hires, rents, or borrows from any of its employees, partners, limited liability members, or members of their households. As respects the motor carrier, the exception applies as respects private passenger type autos only.
Hired automobile (Vehicle Insurance)
A car that does not belong to the insured, members of their household, or their employees. It is leased, borrowed, or rented by the insured.

An automobile whose exclusive use and control has been temporarily given to another for a consideration.

history and physical (H&P)
Detailed account obtained during an interview with the patient of the onset, duration, and character of the present illness and any acts or factors that aggravate or ameliorate the symptoms, as well as the findings on physical examination. Then the physician makes a medical decision based on the number of diagnoses or management options, amount of data or complexity of data reviewed, and complications and/or morbidity or mortality. An H & P may be performed before or on the day of admission as an inpatient to the hospital.
history of present illness (HPI)
Chronological description of the development of the patient’s present illness from the first sign or symptom or from the previous encounter to the present.
History statement
Attending physician’s statement that is usually part of an insurance application that contains specific health history of the proposed insured.
