Doctor of Osteopathy (DO or MD)

Physician trained in osteopathic medicine who may use diagnostic and therapeutic methods of standard medicine and is trained in therapeutic manipulation of the spine. License to perform medicine and surgery is required in all states. A DO may use the initials MD after their name in some states, and he or she is eligible for reimbursement by Medicare and Medicaid for professional services given to patients.
