Atmospheric Lake or Puddle –

These storms were newly discovered December 2021. Similar to atmospheric rivers, these are slow-moving pools of concentrated water vapor. The lakes or puddles start as rivers but then break off and become an isolated mass of concentrated water that can slowly move across the sky and even stop, depending on wind speed. They can hold enough water to create a puddle a few inches deep and 620 miles wide. So far they’ve been seen mostly near the equator.
