Bundled billing

Establishing a price for an all-inclusive package or global fee for all medical services needed for specific procedures. Bundled billing may include professional and institutional services that are high-cost or common procedures (e.g., coronary artery bypass graft, kidney transplant, maternity care).

Bundling

1. To group minor medical services or surgeries together with principal procedures when provided at the same time and submit them to the insurance company for reimbursement. 2. A payment method in which the insurance company or government program groups together the payment of the lesser service into the payment for the principal procedure to reimburse the provider of the medical service.
