This phrase is considered when choosing a CPT code for a radiological procedure (70010 to 79999). When the radiological procedure is performed by two physicians, the radiological portion of the procedure is designated as “radiological supervision and interpretation.” When a physician performs the procedure and provides imaging supervision and interpretation, a combination of procedure codes outside the 70000 series and imaging supervision and interpretation codes is used.
